1. What is vector graphics?.
Vector graphics use geometrical formulas to represent images. Vector images have many advantages over raster images. Vector is resolution independent meaning you can resize 100x100 pixel image to 100x100 inches image without any loss of quality. That is not possible with raster images. In addition, images stored as vectors look better on devices (monitors and printers) with higher resolution, whereas raster images always appear the same regardless of a device's resolution. Another advantage of vector graphics is that representations of images often require less memory than raster images do.
2. What are the most common vector formats?
Most common vector formats are .eps, .ai, .svg and .wmf. EPS is most commonly used vector format and it can be opened with variety of popular applications. Majority of files on Vectorportal are in .ai and .eps format.
3. Which software can open .eps and .ai files?

Yes, you can use them as you like. These files are protected with Creative Commons Attribution License, which means you can use the for all kind of projects if you provide attribution to Vectorportal.
5. May I modify your images?
Yes, you can modify anything you like. You can tweak them, scale them, change colour, just about anything to create image that fits your needs.
6. I can't open the logo I just downloaded!?
In order to use downloaded logos you have to unzip them first. All vector files have been zipped (with WinZip software) in order to reduce the size of the file. When you download logo from vectorportal.com, double click on your logo and you will start WinZip (if you have it installed on your computer, if not download it here). Select the file and click on Extract command. Choose folder for extraction and click Extract again. Now you have vector file in your folder. To open it, use any of applications mentioned above.
